A projekt NV80, majd P31 n\u00e9v alatt indult, lassan haladtak, a szem\u00e9lyaut\u00f3s r\u00e9szleg cs\u0151dk\u00f6zeli helyzetbe jutott; ekkor m\u00e1r ahogy mondani szokt\u00e1k, az \u00e9jf\u00e9l el\u0151tti utols\u00f3 percekn\u00e9l j\u00e1rtak, ez\u00e9rt kell\u0151 akaszt\u00f3fahumorral a projekt \u00faj k\u00f3dneve \u00edgy a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/-7_H_aZtLl8\">11.55<\/a> lett. Elkezd\u0151d\u00f6tt G\u00f6teborgban az <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9lFTQy1zWhs\">\u00faj protot\u00edpus fejleszt\u00e9s<\/a>&nbsp;(projekt felel\u0151s Hans Gustavsson). A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/-7_H_aZtLl8\"> projekt<\/a>&nbsp;keret\u00e9ben a hetes sorozat els\u0151 darabja, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.media.volvocars.com\/global\/en-gb\/heritagemodels\/volvo-700-series\/227032\" target=\"_blank\">a fels\u0151kateg\u00f3ri\u00e1s 760<\/a> (1982) igazi konzervat\u00edv-sz\u00f6gletesre sikeredett. A glob\u00e1lis k\u00f6zv\u00e9lem\u00e9nykutat\u00e1saik tesztalanyai meger\u0151s\u00edtett\u00e9k, hogy j\u00f3 lesz a tervezett t\u00e9glaforma. \u00c9s az elm\u00falt \u00e9vtizedek visszaigazolt\u00e1k \u0151ket, t\u00e9nyleg<strong> J\u00d3 lett!<\/strong> A 760-as a hetes sorozat az egyik legsikeresebb aut\u00f3ja lett a gy\u00e1rnak, eljutott a vil\u00e1g \u00f6sszes orsz\u00e1g\u00e1ba. A &#8222;Trafikmagasinet&#8221; sv\u00e9d aut\u00f3smagazin <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/gGM8dWFWIcI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1982-es m\u0171sor\u00e1ban<\/a> alaposan k\u00f6rbej\u00e1rt\u00e1k \u00e9s bemutatt\u00e1k az \u00faj 760-ast. Az igazi, nagy soros hathengeres\u00fckre (1990) m\u00e9g v\u00e1rni kellett, indul\u00e1skor a francia-sv\u00e9d fejleszt\u00e9s\u0171 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/V6_PRV_engine\">PRV<\/a> V6-os\u00e1t szerelt\u00e9k az aut\u00f3ba, ez ker\u00fclt a fels\u0151kateg\u00f3ri\u00e1s Renaultokba, Peugeotokba, illetve a DeLoreanba is. Sok v\u00e1ltozat, forma \u00e9s m\u00e9g t\u00f6bb motorvari\u00e1ci\u00f3 jelent meg a gy\u00e1rt\u00e1s  \u00e9vtizedei alatt (PRV V6, 2,3 T, B27, B28\/B280, B23\/B230E, B230F, B230FB, B230GT B234F, B204GT), alkalmazt\u00e1k m\u00e9g a hathengeres el\u0151kamr\u00e1s turb\u00f3d\u00edzel er\u0151forr\u00e1st is. A 740 GLT16v-n\u00e9l jelent meg a m\u00f3dos\u00edtott B23-as motor, k\u00e9t fel\u00fclfekv\u0151 vez\u00e9rm\u0171tengely, hengerenk\u00e9nti 4 szeleppel (156 LE). A <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/O4GN9_0w6eM\" target=\"_blank\">kakukktoj\u00e1s<\/a> a B204GT motorral szerelt 740-es, amit csak Sv\u00e9dorsz\u00e1gon k\u00edv\u00fcl lehetett forgalmazni az ottani szigor\u00fabb emisszi\u00f3s el\u0151\u00edr\u00e1sok miatt. Az els\u0151 fut\u00f3m\u0171 MacPherson jelleg\u0171, stabiliz\u00e1torr\u00faddal \u00e9s reakci\u00f3rudakkal. Ezt csak a limuzinokban alkalmazt\u00e1k, a 740 \u00e9s 760 kombik a hagyom\u00e1nyos, merev tengelyes felf\u00fcggeszt\u00e9st kapt\u00e1k. A f\u00e9krendszer korszer\u0171, k\u00e9tk\u00f6r\u00f6s, blokkol\u00e1sg\u00e1tl\u00f3 rendszerrel szerelt, el\u0151l, h\u00e1tul h\u0171t\u00f6tt f\u00e9kt\u00e1rcs\u00e1kkal. A hetesek egyik jellegzetess\u00e9ge, hogy a fogy\u00f3-kop\u00f3 alkatr\u00e9szek (f\u00e9krendszer, izz\u00f3k, fut\u00f3m\u0171) cser\u00e9je gyors \u00e9s egyszer\u0171, ak\u00e1r h\u00e1zilag is elv\u00e9gezhet\u0151. A szerv\u00edzintervallum megny\u00falt, a k\u00f6lts\u00e9geket cs\u00f6kkentett\u00e9k, de az aut\u00f3 m\u00e9rete szerencs\u00e9re nem cs\u00f6kkent. A k\u00f6lts\u00e9gcs\u00f6kkent\u00e9s volt az egyik oka ennek, a m\u00e1sik, az utast\u00e9r m\u00e9reteinek t\u00e1g\u00edt\u00e1sa. Az akkori fejleszt\u00e9si lehet\u0151s\u00e9gek maxim\u00e1lis kihaszn\u00e1l\u00e1s\u00e1val megalkott\u00e1k a sok \u00e9vtizedig biztons\u00e1gi etalont jelent\u0151 karossz\u00e9ri\u00e1t. Min\u0151s\u00e9gi, galvaniz\u00e1lt lemezekb\u0151l k\u00e9sz\u00fclt a kasztni, deform\u00e1l\u00f3d\u00f3 biztons\u00e1gi z\u00f3n\u00e1kkal, deform\u00e1l\u00f3d\u00f3 korm\u00e1nyoszloppal
